SUSPENSE/THRILLER:  Dakota McBride has deliberately put herself in the path of a serial killer and Tyler Jackson is determined to save her before his vision of her death becomes reality. Dakota has no idea her brother’s best friend has a gift, and Tyler’s been out of her life for years. He has no clue she’s an FBI agent, perfectly capable of taking care of herself. The stakes are high when a competent woman clashes with a man’s vision. When the smoke clears, who will be the victor?

With tension, danger, and unresolved feelings from the get-go this romantic suspense will keep hearts pitter-pattering until the very end. The formerly unexplored relationship between Dakota and Tyler is firmly ensconced in the front seat while the serial killer is regulated to the back seat driver position. The dreaded info dump is avoided with delicate precision as the author weaves Tyler and Dakota’s past into the present and their long-term friendship helps rather than hinders the believability of their unanswered attraction. While the writing is top notch, the brevity shortchanges the characters and plot. In addition, the ending is wrapped up too tidily, leaving the reader with an adrenaline crash and burn. However, even with these issues this is a captivating story filled with heart, strength, and trust in the face of adversity. Perhaps one could even say it’s to die for.
