Deathbringer: Olive Kennedy (Fairy World MD Book 6)

Tamara
Grantham
Genre:
Paranormal

Olive Kennedy is a human/elf half-breed who unfortunately is fated by an ancient prophecy to destroy not only earth, but the magical fairy world attached to it through portals. With a barbarian Viking king as her fiancé, a dragon for a stepfather, and elf magic running through her own veins, defying the prophecy should be a breeze, if not for the asteroid hurtling through space—the very asteroid she is destined to use to destroy the earth. She is called the Deathbringer, but Olive is determined to stop her doomed fate from coming to fruition, even if it means traveling through horrifying worlds to locate special relics and defeat the evil goddess who is behind it all. No problem… right?

“Deathbringer” is exactly how fantasy should be written. The amount of vivid detail Tamara Grantham puts into every scene is astounding and so completely unique. Not one part of the story feels less than magical or creative. It is refreshing and ingenious. With so much rich imagery throughout the book, it would have been nice to feel that same intensity in the emotional connections between the characters. Though this is the sixth book of the series, the author does a decent job explaining the major back details, however there are a few references to previous stories that leave the reader feeling as if pieces of information are missing. The book ends on a cliffhanger, which leaves the reader awaiting answers. Well told with details so arresting the reader feels sucked into the very pages, “Deathbringer” is a worthwhile read!
