Leaving their homes and all they have known and loved, Claire, Sam, Collin, Sal and Kate, friends since childhood, embark on a journey that will change their lives and possibly the future of the world.  Four of the friends will have to come to terms with their pasts and the legacy they inherited. One, Kate, is there simply for her intelligence and insightful help.  As a world of vampires, werewolves and other beings unknown to man materializes.  The darker side works to overthrow all who fight to save humankind.  The four must now accept that they are becoming what their ancestors decreed - vampires and werewolves - in order to face the danger that threatens the world. Will they learn all they must before it is too late?

In this second installment of “The Four” series, the interest ratchets up as the plot focusses and thickens.  The world of the vampires and werewolves, both good and bad, is met in a creative and interesting way.  The writing is still very elementary, however, with much repetition in word usage and simple sentences that make it feel like a very young adult read.  Even the characters, although supposedly in their twenties, are written more like young adolescents. There is not even a mention of any attraction between sexes and their behavior is almost childlike.  Weird, considering their world and the part they are written to play in it. It is improving, however, and if the next installment continues, this may end up a promising story.
