Angelle is a fallen angel, but she is dating a demon named Jack. Her primary goal in life is to get her wings back and return to heaven. Unfortunately, her plans continually get thwarted by someone or something. When her ex-best friend, a newly fallen angel, asks Angelle for her help to find the girl's boyfriend, Angelle doesn’t know whether to help the girl or not. Attempting to help leads Angelle and Jack into hell to recover a house gypsy and then to the 1920’s to help her ex-boyfriend, Mel, gain control of the Devil’s Brigade. Will Jack and Angelle make it out alive or will they be thrown into the fiery depths of hell?

“Broken” is not a standalone book and readers will find it extremely confusing if they haven't read “Scorned” first. Josephine Templeton has created an exciting world full of exclusive and frightening characters. Some of her characters are relatable, in that they face difficult circumstances, but others seem to have no real depth. Ms. Templeton’s plot is certainly unique. Readers may find themselves caught up in the story but may feel let down by the lack of cohesiveness. Some readers may love the ending of the book, but readers that do not like or appreciate cliffhangers may be disappointed. Overall, “Broken” is a story that most readers of sci-fi, paranormal, and urban books will enjoy and will look forward to Ms. Templeton’s next book in the series.
