SCI-FI, NEW ADULT:  Daniel Brewer has a reputation for being the Casanova on board the Deep Water Research Command vessel Endure.  He has no idea that he will be joined by Dr. Lydia Ashley, a twenty-one year old Nobel prize winning genius (who also happens to be totally sexy!). Lydia's dream has been to work on the Endure, and she has just been accepted into the program for the undersea research facility. When she meets Daniel she is excited to have found someone close to her age, but she has her doubts about him.  When your father is the commanding officer perhaps you don't need to take your job seriously.  As their feelings for each other begin to develop, they find it hard to decipher which could be the more arduous task at hand:  discovering what love is all about, or finding a way to survive the depths of the deep blue sea. Their shared knowledge could be dangerous, but their hearts and lives may be at terrible risk, too.

Huchton's sci-fi novel joins the growing genre of New Adult, and readers will be waiting with bated breath for the next in the Endure series. This fabulous debut is exciting and original, with a boatload of characters who will flood our memories for quite some time. Although it's labeled as science fiction, one may feel that the romance aspect will take over after we push through a few sluggish chapters to get to the real nitty-gritty of the story. Their young love will not hinder the development of the plot, but it may take away from the entire aspect of the oceanic adventure we signed up for. All in all, the futuristic storyline moves at a quick pace, and the cliffhanger of an ending leaves us with just enough suspense to imagine what could possibly happen next.
