WESTERN:  Bull riding champion Tye Casper left the woman he loved to join the rodeo ten years ago with a promise to return after one circuit run. As time goes by without fulfilling that promise, he realizes that holding the bull-riding champion title is meaningless without Jolie Lockhart by his side. With a set plan, Tye returns to Skeeter Blue for one last rodeo, hoping to win back Jolie’s heart. However, things are not working out as planned, and he’s finding out that getting a second chance with Jolie may not be as easy as riding bulls.

This often-told tale of second chance love starts out a bit slowly as the background is introduced but picks up speed once the protagonists interact. With believable characters that are likeable, the story line is good but a bit repetitious in regards to Tye’s reasons for leaving. In addition, Jolie’s hot and cold love interest in Tye becomes a bit tedious, causing the reader to lose focus. However, these issues do not detract from the enjoyment of the plot or the journey to happily ever after. With a little more fleshing out of the story line and ending, this contemporary romance has the potential for a higher rating.
