Meridee enjoys blending in and being a "nobody" on campus.  This does not keep her from daydreaming about the star football player, however, even if she knows she cannot possibly catch his attention.  Parker has never looked twice at the girl behind the ice cream counter, until the day in the cafeteria he literally runs into Meridee and spills orange chicken down her front.  Now, although he has the girlfriend every guy desires, he wonders if there is more to a girl than just her outward beauty and social status.  As their unlikely relationship deepens, Meridee and Parker must decide if they can overcome social obstacles and find love or play it safe and keep to their own sides of the field.

“Game Changer” begins with such sass and strength from Meridee that the reader will be rooting for her from the very beginning.  Parker, although he does not let his new fame and popularity go to his head, cannot help but fall for Lily, the clichéd, popular cheerleader.  Throughout the entire novel it is obvious which girl Parker should be with, which leaves little suspense to the direction of the plot.  As the novel progresses, Meridee's character becomes more self-deprecating, which will leave the reader wondering what happened to the strength she showed in the beginning.  Although the story loses steam near the end, the overall experience is an enjoyable and cute ride.
