Jaidev and Cat are unknowingly taking the same Sociology class and have decided to use each other as the subject for their paper. Jaidev wants to make someone fall for him and then friend zone her, while Cat wants to compare an online relationship with an in-person relationship to see which one will want to sleep with her first. As Jaidey and Cat begin to spend time together they quickly find that there is more to their relationship than simply writing a Sociology paper. Once the sparks ignite between the two, reality becomes troublesome. Jaidev’s parents have already chosen his future wife, and being of Indian decent, he does not wish to disrespect their wishes. Will Cat be the reason he loses his family or will she walk away with a broken heart?

The main characters of this novel are likeable and enjoyable to read. Cat is deaf but deals with her disability well. In parts of the book, it is stated that people must look directly at her in order for her to read their lips. In other parts of the book, when people are behind her, she still hears what they say. This is slightly distracting. It could be that her hearing aids allow her to hear behind her but without that being stated, the inconsistency is confusing. The cultural differences and diversity of these characters is amazing, yet the characters themselves could be described in more depth.  The undeniable chemistry between Cat and Jaidev will keep readers wanting more and rooting for them to find a way to make their love conquer all.
