When Sheriff Cash Hill’s wife, Georgia, died, it was the discovery that she was leaving him for a man that shook him and stole his trust in women. Despite leaving Texas with regrets, Holly Jensen has returned, albeit to work as a vet.  But Holly knows secrets about Georgia that could destroy Cash’s family and Cash has made it clear he wants nothing to do with her. Will their passion free them from their past? Or will their reservations keep them from opening their hearts to each other.

A heart-warming story about second chances, “Saving the Sheriff” is a passionate tale rounded out with an interesting cast of characters.  At face value, the plot appears nothing new, formulaic even before the novel begins.  Once the reader delves in, however, the characters come to life, drawing the reader into their drama. It is difficult to not feel frustration at the misunderstandings between Cash and Holly, wrought from close minded presumptions. At the same time, the spark between them is so undeniable, the reader cannot help but cling to each word, hoping and praying that the characters are able to move past their own stubbornness and see what the reader knows.  Despite the predictable storyline, “Saving the Sheriff” is a fun read, made entertaining by the author’s ability to write realistic and engaging characters.
