Must Have Faith (Darling Cove Book 2)

Deborah
Garland

Genre:
Contemporary

A crisis in the family forces Faith Copeland to return home after ten years of self-imposed exile. She’s returning to  the small town where her she publicly left Greg Mallory waiting at the alter all those years ago. She dreads facing him especially since her love for him is still strong. Greg hasn’t been the same since Faith left. Unable to find happiness without her, he struggles to deal with the conflicting emotions her presence sparks.

How long can one carry around the mistakes of the past and allow them to ruin the future? This theme is explored fairly well in “Must Have Faith”. While there is no doubt in the reader’s mind that Faith and Greg belong together, Faith’s inability to trust in Greg’s love and forgive herself proves to be the biggest stumbling block in their relationship. Ms. Garland does a great job exploring issues of trust and forgiveness. The prose is well written with dialogue that flows naturally—a pleasure to ready. Faith and Greg are fairly well-rounded characters to whom the reader can relate quite easily. There is a surprising twist in the tale which seems somewhat unnecessary in relation to the couple’s story. This romance cliché forces a resolution to the central conflict that one can’t help but believe the characters would have moved to on their own. “Must Have Faith” is a fun and entertaining read!
