Lucia (The Bonaveras Book 1)

Patricia
Paris
Genre:
Contemporary

Two Italian grandfathers make a pact that their grandchildren - one a boy, the other a girl - who are born on the same day, will wed. Now Antonio has flown to the United States to meet Lucia so he can get his meddling grandfather to leave him alone. He is sure there will be no chemistry between him and Lucia and that will be the end of his grandfather’s blackmail. When he meets Lucia, Antonio is as enchanted with her as she is with him. But Antonio is hiding a secret that could send both of their worlds tumbling down. How can he reveal the truth and still marry Lucia?

This is an incredible story with a large range of characters, which are all equally charming. Lucia has three sisters and they work together running a B&B and a vineyard. In spite of the many characters, they all have their own individual quirks and charms. One is even introduced to several of the people who stay at the B&B, so there is a feeling of reality to the story. Simple Italian phrases are interjected throughout the piece to give it that international seasoning, but not so much that the reader feels left out. Ms. Paris does an exquisite job describing the area around the home and the terrace. She captures the romantic aura that one needs for such a piece steeped in passion. The three sisters are easy to love and their stories will be told in later books in this dynamic series.
