Love’s Journey Home (Lincoln Love Stories #2)

Julie Coulter
Bellon
Genre:
Contemporary

Mick Donovan’s past taught him to keep people at arm’s length. Yet one fateful night, he finds himself volunteering to look after a little lost boy — and fighting his strong, sudden attraction to the beautiful tough-as-nails prosecutor who wants to send that same little boy away.

Assistant DA Olivia Dalton isn’t impressed when she first meets the handsome schoolteacher unexpectedly in the middle of her case — until she spots the honorable man beneath the "player" reputation. Now she is determined to learn more and in doing so, finds herself falling hard. However, Mick is damaged goods and Olivia may be too late to reach him. Can Mick ever learn to trust again, or will this case tear their fledgling relationship apart?

Ms. Bellon weaves a heart-warming story about love, trust, and healing. Her characters grapple with very real situations — the loss of a parent, child abuse and neglect, the court system, and social services — yet in a gentle, almost loving way. There are occasional confusing jumps of logic in the prose and the relationship moves almost too fast for the hurdles that need to be overcome. Nevertheless, "Love’s Journey Home" is a refreshingly sweet tale of how love really can change lives and about two people who find home together.
