Liam McKenna is heading to Ireland as an event planner for his friend Guy’s art center’s 100th anniversary celebration. Rose Finlay is new to Mist Na Mara Art Center as a lead cook. Still trying to prove her worth at this new job, she’s flustered when she may be passed over as able to cater the huge anniversary celebration. Rose and her son live at the center and have a good thing going after previous struggles of being a single parent. While Liam plans, he is also searching for his nephew that his sister gave up for adoption twenty years earlier. Will the past meet the present and can two broken hearts be mended with the beauty of the Irish spirit and vistas?

“Irish Shadows” will transport readers to the Emerald Isle for a magical experience. Ms. Martin depicts the small country towns and its residents beautifully. Much Irish history is shared to envelop the reader in everything Ireland has to offer. Although some of the history and the participants discussed take over the romance of the story, it adds a layer to the plot. The characters are accepted and easily liked. This is the fifth book of the series and readers may have an advantage with reading the other books first. A lovely story with real life struggles that the characters overcome with grace and support from friends and family. Readers may plan their own Irish vacation after finishing this read!
