Genre:
Contemporary

Rose Richardson assumes a new identity and moves to a rural town in Connecticut to escape her ex-husband’s attempts to frame her for a crime he committed. With the FBI delving into the case, Rose, aka Emma Morris, unwittingly rents a house occupied by a  curmudgeonly owner who is trying to make the deadline on his next book. Leo Drake, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, is anything but happy to share his solitude with Emma and her dog, Bella. Things get tangled and complicated when long hidden secrets become known.

The third addition to the “Blue Moon Lake” series, this contemporary romance stands alone with an intriguing story of healing, love, and starting anew. The alternating use of the protagonist’s name and alias somewhat breaks the cohesiveness; however, the reader is nonetheless treated to a well-written, multifaceted tale with well-developed characters that are likeable, a solid plot that flows nicely, and a storyline that has one turning the pages from beginning to end. The inclusion of Bella, the adorable basset hound, as a secondary character enhances the appeal of this tale, enriching it with humor and a lightheartedness that leaves one smiling. This entertaining love story lifts the spirit, tugs at the heartstrings, and leaves an enjoyable afterglow that stays with the reader long after the last word is read.
