Y’all are expecting me to cuss, right? I fully admit to having a potty mouth, but I’m willing to bet writers who are reading this have their own f-bomb moments when writing the thing every author loathes: The blurb. Yep, that’s the dirty word of the day.
The blurb (book blurb or synopsis) is the bane of most authors’ existence, and in my line of work—creating covers—I’ve seen tons of them. Sometimes I’m invited to give my two cents and I do love to give my two cents, so along the way, I’ve learned a few things. Here is a list of some common pitfalls and how to fix them, taking your blurb from blah to brilliant.
