InD’tale works hard to keep current of trends in the publishing industry, and provide useful information to both authors and readers.  To that end, we are happy to announce that audiobooks are moving into the limelight! Each month now in InD’tale, we are introducing audiobook reviews that will help listeners choose wisely, when considering their next audiobook purchase.  With audiobooks growing at exponential rates, and sales of ebooks declining steadily, this is timely, now more than ever. THERE’S A NEW CLASS OF READER…Authors are cognizant that they’re leaving money on the table if they don’t capitalize on audiobooks. A recent article by Thu Huang Ha appeared on Quartz.com titled “America’s Unhealthy Obsession With Productivity Is Driving Its Biggest New Reading Trend”. It describes a new class of reader: “Audiobooks are a way for people who were once big readers to keep up with their youthful curiosity. As they find themselves with less leisure time than they had in college, the gym and the car become opportunities to be stimulated. ‘I used to read a lot, and probably stopped when I went to law school,’ says Jamie Brooks, a lawyer based in New York City. Now she listens to an audiobook a week, on average three hours a day, on the train to work and before bed.”
