It’s a brand new year, which means a brand new 365 days in which to tackle that growing mountain of books that is our TBR pile! We all make a lot of New Year’s resolutions—around fitness, health, diet, work, family, home, hobbies and the list goes on. But when was the last time you made resolutions about your book reading habits? Maybe it’s time to change things up, try reading a new way, or just double down with all your reading.
Here are a few New Year’s book resolutions you can add to your list for 2020:
I will read something dense and meaty. Like improving your diet by adding high quality food, why not improve your book diet with something high-quality, too?
Let’s be clear: genre fiction, romance, thrillers and even erotica all offer an amazing breadth of quality reading that no one should ever put down. That being said, there’s more to life than just great fiction.
Why not try picking up a non-fiction book or two this year, and really diving into some aspect of real life that you’ve always wanted to explore but never had the time? Or, think about digging up those old literary classics that you were forced to read in high school. There may be something of value in there you’ll only comprehend with the eyes of an older, more mature reader.
