Being an Exemplary Parent at Christmas

In the parent’s handbook for being a good example, may I offer a suggestion:  that during the Christmas season, family shopping excursions be excluded from scrutinization?
I must admit I feel quite proud of my efforts in every other area this time of year.  During school programs I can sit still and smile contentedly at the small cherub lifting her dress as she sings angelically up on the stage, or pulls pug-nose faces as she recites her carefully prepared  ‘Peace on Earth’ poem to an audience of sniggering adults....
