I know it’ll be difficult, but I want you to take a good look at this picture of Weston Bouchér . . . Finished? No? Okay . . . Alright, alright, that’s enough. So, what was your first impression? The consummate bad boy? The raw epitome of a bad-A black sheep? The very reason fathers around the world invest in shotguns? Hmm. Maybe. What if I told you Weston has seen his fair share of fistfights? What if I told you his motorcycle is as hot as he is? What if I told you his rich baritone voice is in a swoontastic league of its own? And what if I told you Weston isn’t a bad boy at all? Enter archetypes! In last month’s article, we learned where archetypes came from, and that they can be a crucial tool in character development. Now, we’ll learn how they work.
